  • Communications: Content of your messages, including text, images, and other files shared through the chat. This includes public chat rooms and direct messages.
  • User Settings: Preferences and configurations you set within the application.

b. Information Collected Automatically

When you access and use the Service, we may automatically collect certain information about your device and usage, including:

  • Usage Data: Information on how you access and use the Service, such as chat activity, features used, and interactions with other users.

  • Online Presence: Real-time user status and last seen indicators.
  • Message Read Status: Tracking of unread messages and automatic marking as read when viewed.

c. Information from Third Parties

We may receive information from third-party services integrated with ChatsDeep, such as:

  • Supabase: As our Backend-as-a-Service provider, Supabase handles our PostgreSQL database, authentication, file storage, and real-time subscriptions. Information collected and processed by Supabase is subject to their privacy policy.
  • OAuth Providers: If you choose to sign in using Google or GitHub, we receive certain information from these providers as authorized by their respective privacy policies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for various purposes, including to:

  • Provide and Maintain the Service: Operate, maintain, and improve the functionalities of ChatsDeep, including real-time messaging, user management, and file sharing.

  • With Other Users: Your display name, avatar, online status, and messages are visible to other users within public chat rooms and direct messages.
  • Service Providers: We engage third-party service providers to perform functions on our behalf, such as Supabase for backend services and Vercel for deployment and hosting. These providers have access to your information only to perform their tasks and are obligated not to disclose or use it for other purposes.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order or government agency request).
